Request exceptional absence from school
Attendance at school is very important and the government published new guidance last year. The guidance states that ‘Headteachers should not grant leave of absence unless in exceptional circumstances’. If it is necessary to request leave of absence for your child, it must be made in advance and in writing using the form below, stating clearly the exceptional reasons for the request. The headteacher will consider each request to decide if the absence can be authorised and a reply will be sent to you. A form may also be obtained from the school office.
