Mixed Primary Starts Football Tournament 24 January 2020
Another hugely successful day for St. Andrews football team. This time it was the boys turn, following on from the girls last week the boys started off with a victory over St Matthew’s 2-0 Marley Louca getting both goals. We then followed it up with a 0-0 draw with Grange Park followed by another nil nil v brimsdown. We beat Carterhatch 2-0. Goals from Dylan Franklin and Marley Louca proving enough. Then it came down to the last game we needed a win to progress to the finals with a draw not quite being good enough. We played one of the best schools in the borough in Eversley. They went 1 nil up Through a very well worked goal. We went straight up the other end and Ronnie Turner pulled one back. It was to prove not enough as the game ended 1-1.
The boys were upset to come 2nd in the group but I reminded them these schools are bigger than us and have more players to choose from unfortunately we don't!
I have never been so proud of the boys as I was today. To concede 1 goal in 5 games is fantastic with all the Tottenham coaches coming up to me telling me how great the boys played today. We move on with plenty of fixtures still to play.
