Forest School Update
At Forest School on Tuesday we made journey sticks, learning how to tie a clove hitch. It really helped us all be more mindful of the journey we made to the forest.
Children heard the story of the Minotaur and then set to task building the Labyrinth in groups. Some used logs, others used mounds of leaves, but the real magic was the communication and team work which resulted from this task with intergenerational volunteers playing too.
We dug up clay and brought it back to school for modelling - that was really messy fun! Watercolour paintings and more fire lighting practice, then popcorn on the fire!
It was 1-4 degrees today, but the children didn’t complain of the cold because they had come to school in good warm clothing and lots of layers. Two more weeks of our Forest School program left and it’ll be Year 1’s turn after half term!
