Science Award

I am delighted to announce that St.Andrew's Southgate has been awarded the Primary Science Quality Mark – Gilt Award. (2021-24 ). Just 160 schools gained the award this year and being awarded additional Gilt status on top makes us all feel extra proud of the achievement. This is a prestigious national award for the teaching and learning of science. Schools that achieve the PSQM Gilt award have demonstrated an established and ongoing commitment and expertise in science subject leadership, teaching and learning. It shows that we have worked together both within school and with local experts and teachers to share good practices and improve the provision we offer the children of St.Andrews. I would like to congratulate Mrs Erskine for all her hard work in collecting  the evidence required  and for her strong leadership in science  which has led to this award.

A short story by Tanishka & Kanista - published by Young Writers

We are delighted to share with you 2 beautifully creative stories written by our very talented pupils Tanishka and Kanista, both of which have been published by Young Writers.

Tanishka's story, 'The Adventures of Snowflake and the Hidden Treasure' can be read in 'Young Writers - The Adventures of...'

...and Kanista's story, 'My Purple, Scaly Dragon' has been published in 'Young Writers - Peculiar Pet's'

Both pupils independently entered their story into their age group competition, where they were both commended for their creativity and inspiration to others.

Congratulations Tanishka and Kanista!

A short story by Kanista - published by Young Writers

We are extremely proud to announce that one of our pupils, Kanista age 10, has had her story published in a book called 'A wander in the Woods'.

Kanista presented her 100 word story to Young Writers, she was acknowledged and awarded for her creative and imaginative composition. Her short story has made it into this beautiful book where it can be shared, celebrated and preserved forever!

A well deserved achievement. Well done Kanista.
