In order to mark the Royal Wedding on Saturday 19th May 2018, on Friday 18th May 2018 we shall be inviting children to come to school dressed in their most regal attire. Crowns and tiaras are all welcome in return for a £1 donation to the charity Scotty’s Little Soldiers, one of Prince Harry’s favourite charities. Scotty’s Little Soldiers is a charity for bereaved Armed Forces children, offering vital support to children who have lost a parent while serving in the British Armed Forces.
We hope that children will enjoy dressing up and using their imagination to create an outfit fit for a king or queen. Please remember that dressing up outfits need not be shop bought – we are always delighted to see the ingenuity and originality of home-made designs which the children have enjoyed creating. Alternatively children may wear clothing in the colours of the Union Jack flag.
At lunch time, those children who usually have school lunch will be treated to a special “Royal” menu consisting of Harry’s royal roast chicken/jewelled quiche and a special royal sponge cake.
In the afternoon children may bring in their own royal afternoon tea to enjoy with their classmates. Please make up a paper plate (covered by cling film and clearly labelled with your child’s name) with a few treats (NO nuts please) and a carton of juice/water. Please ensure that your child brings the plate to school on the morning of Friday 18th May.
We hope that the whole school will enjoy being part of the wedding celebrations while raising funds for a very worthwhile charity.
