This year we shall be taking part in the Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday 28th September from 9am to 10am in the main school hall. This a wonderful occasion for the whole school parent body to come together. Please drop your children off as normal at 8.45am and return to school at 9am via the main school office.
The coffee morning represents Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event for people facing cancer, and people all over the UK will be hosting their own Coffee Mornings to support this wonderful charity.
As a Church of England school, our focus is to nurture our children not only to understand but to live our Christian values, particularly those of compassion and service. Our work in supporting charities of this sort is fundamental in realising this ambition. We shall be hosting an assembly this week with the children where we shall be exploring how we, as a school Christian community, can best fulfill our duty of service.
Last year alone Macmillan raised over £27 million and we hope, with your support, to be able to help Macmillan to beat this target.
If you are able to bring in cakes or biscuits, your donations will be very gratefully received. Home-made or shop bought, our only stipulation is that all cakes and biscuits must conform with our Nut Free Policy. This means that the ingredients must not contain any nuts and this will include ingredients such as sesame seeds. Donations can be brought in either on Thursday after school or on Friday morning. Donations brought in on Thursday will be collected by members of the PTA in the playground.
