A festive final session was the perfect end to an 8 week program of Forest School for year 4 at St Andrews Primary. We created some fun little crafts, a group perfected their hedgehog habitats they’d been working on for weeks and we made elder beads and forest school memory bracelets to keep forever!
Children have grown in confidence and resilience, had opportunity to develop their social dynamics out of class - which has been very worthwhile, and you can see the difference! They haved learned to be calm and find peace and respect in their developing relationship with nature. They can also identify trees, plants, insects and birds, a new skill for 90%!
We ended the day around the fire circle back at school with lots of parents us joining us to toast a marshmallow and reflect on what we’ll take away from our Forest School experience.
What a joy it has been to teach these special kids!
